This week has been a very busy week for us. Another Client has left the outreach to bigger and better things. He received a phone call to report back to work in NYC. Since starting the outreach in November of 2024, we have helped four clients into stable housing, have provided clients with paperwork to obtain there Identification, social security card, and birth certificates. We have supplied three clients with tents and sleeping bags( when available) to help them stay out of the harsh winter elements.
As far as donations go for this past week:
- We received some blankets, clothes, gloves and hats from First Church Breather church,
- We also received 200 dollar gift cards from the central Pennsylvania Food bank.
- We received a 25 dollar gift card from Weis.
- We had a local truck driver offer his shower credits to our clients.
- We received a donation of some much needed baby clothes for a couple of clients in need.
- Lori my outreach partner in Shippensburg helped us receive a donation of snacks for our bags from BBB’S Grocery in Newburg, Pa.
Client updates:
- One client received his own place through housing. We are currently looking for pots, pans, washcloths, towels and a coffee pot for him.
- Another client got into a room at Amvet. He is currently looking for a full size fridge.
- Another client received a call back to work in NYC.
-We received calls from six new clients. Each client came to the house and received warm clothes, a winter jacket, three pairs of socks, shoes or boots, hat, scarves and gloves.
- I personally helped two clients with gas for their cars to keep warm and make it back and forth to work until their first pay.
We passed out 38 food and hygiene bags this week. Each bag includes enough can goods and snacks for a week, a set of plastic silverware, coffee, tea or hot coco (depending on what they prefer) and water. They also received a Christmas card and homemade cookies this week.
